Huntsville's Mayor R.B. "Spec" Searcy, Jr., behind the counter in the Central Café holding his famous coffee cup. The mayor made a daily trek from his small office at City Hall to the café, serve himself, and was later often seen walking back on Jefferson Street to his office with the cup in hand.
The man sitting at the counter to the right and facing the camera is probably Huston Cushing, a regular customer at the Café. He worked at the Singer Sewing Machine Co. at 110 Washington Street.
