Watkins-Sparkman Home, Adams Street
In 1875, this house was built for the Watkins family and later was owned by the Cooper family, who sold it to the late Senator John J. Sparkman and his wife. The Senator was internationally known for his career in foreign affairs, banking, housing, and other important areas. Mrs. Sparkman continues to live in the house and is a talented author and artist in her own right. Sketched by Lee Harless, Jr. in 1988.
