
1830 Lewis-Clay House. West wing built after 1935 HABS. Used materials from demolished 1840s outbuilding. In c. 1986-90, J & H Arch., (H. Jones) remodeled c. 1950s west wing and north rear additions, plus garage in rear of site. (HJAC - '97)

CLAY-ANDERSON HOME, Eustis Street
Built ca. 1830 this lovely Federal house served first as the home for the head of the Huntsviile Female Seminary, later for members of the famous Clay family. The Gordon Andersons have lived there for forty years. Drawing by Chattanooga artist, Charles Chesier.
