607 Franklin Street SE
Gilbert-Betts-Tucker Home, Franklin Street
This colonial revival style house was built ca. 1900 by Mr. and Mrs. J. Sikes Gilbert. It was sold to Judge and Mrs. Tancred Betts in 1911. In 1973 Mr. and Mrs. Jerry B. Tucker and their three sons moved into the house, restoring it to its former glory. A gazebo and swimming pool have been added as well. The back entrance has been redesigned incorporating a deck with wooden railing. Sketched by Lee Harless, Jr. in 1987.
