He was Associate Director, Flying Training Air Force Supervisor School, Craig Air Force Base, Alabama, from 1954 to 1956. He was Chief, Testing Section, Training Standards Branch, U. S. Army Ordnance Guided Missile School at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. He was also Instructor in Psychology in Extension, University of Alabama. Mr. Boyd was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Honorary Education Society; of Kappa Phi Kappa, Education; and of Phi Alpha Theta, Honorary History fraternities. Receiving the commission of Ensign, United States Navy in 1943, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant in 1946." - Grove
