• On the 1920 Census he is listed as the son on the head of house and his parents are Henry Schmidt and Barbara Schmidt (Louis is 13). In the Ancestry.com page, it claims his father was also named Louis Grabensteder and no dates of birth and death are listed. His mother seems to always be Barbara Fries (1874-1967). There is a Barbara Grabensteder buried near him in the Maple Hill Cemetery with the same dates on her tomb stone as other references to his mother. - 1920 Census
• Ancestry.com claims he is the son of Louis Grabensteder and Barbara Fries (1874 - 1967). His father's data is not included in Ancestry.com, but if one follows his mother's links, it lists two spouses, Louis Grabensteder and Henry Schmidt. This could explain why he was listed as the son of Schmidt (head-of-house in the 1920). - Ancestry.com
• Married to Lillian. His in-laws were living with them (last name Garvin, occupation: Manager, Iron Furnace). They were living in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Louis occupation was listed as an Electrical Engineer. - 1940 Census

The United Givers Fund was organized in l956 with Louis Grabensteder, President; Roy Blackburn, Vice President; Jimmy Taylor, Secretary; and Oscar Mason, Treasurer. Directors were Vance Thornton, M.L. Weil, Jr., Clarence L. Cobbs, Henry Homer Chase, A.D. Elliott, Dr. J.F. Drake, J.W. O'Neal, Don Glenn and Lawrence Hereford. The first drive, in 1956, was headed by Ashford W. Todd, and exceeded the goal of $83,520." - Record
