Civil War Union Brigadier General, Farmer
Notes:
• Major General during the American Civil War. After war he became a farmer near Huntsville and is one of two Union Generals buried in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd Bde/2nd Divn/IV Corps in Peninsula campaign, commanded 2nd Bde/2nd Divn/VI Corps at Seven Days (wounded), Antietam (wounded), commanded 1st Divn/VI Corps at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, June 1863 promoted Maj. He commanded the Vermont Brigade of the Army of the Potomac during the Peninsula campaign and was wounded in the Battle of Savage Station.
