Through this naming opportunity, Mrs. Davidson is recognizing the contributions of her husband, Dr. Julian Davidson, and other Alabama engineers who worked in the early days of missile and rocket development in Huntsville, many of whom joined Dr. Wernher von Braun's team to create the rocket that transported human beings to the moon." - USSRC
