Pat joined the staff of First Baptist Church in May 1984 as Music Secretary. Prior to that position she had served as Associate Music and Youth Director at Heritage Baptist Church, Huntsville, and also was a private piano teacher. On May 13, 1984, the Fanning family transferred their church letters to FBC. Pat, a talented musician with a most congenial personality, became a "team player" on the FBC staff within a short time. In addition to the duties as Music Secretary, she sometimes serves as Receptionist/Secretary.
Mrs. Fanning is the daughter of the Reverend J. Otis King and the late Nina Lee King. He served many years in the pastorate at Lincoln Memorial Baptist Church and the Third Baptist Church, both in Huntsville. Though now retired from the pastorate, the Reverend King continues in the ministry." - First Baptist Church
