•  Sarah Elizabeth Bell married David Gardiner on Feb. 4, 1830. - Huie

•  David and Sarah were parents of 13 children which includes one unnamed baby boy. The other 12 are listed below:
     Davis Collins Bell Gardiner (11/9/1830-7/20/1853)
     Cynthia Ann Gardiner Torbett (4/18/1833-4/1/1855) married Howard Alex Torbett on 11/29/1849.
     William Francis Gardiner (1835-1909) married Margaret W. Mitchell on 4/20/1859
     Elizabeth Jane Gardiner Parker (1837-1892) married Daniel Webster Parker on 12/28/1859
     Mary Ester Gardiner Davidson (1838-1906) married William H. Davidson on 4/21/1859
     Elisha James Gardiner, born in 1840, was unmarried and enlisted in the CSA. He drowned in the Cahaba River in 1863 or 1864.
     John Edward Gardiner, born in 1841, was unmarried and enlisted in the CSA. After becoming ill, he was sent home and died of typhoid fever in 1862.
     Charity Ellen Gardiner Chunn (1844-1899) married Elisha L. Chunn on 1/25/1869
     Matthew Alexander Gardiner, born in 1846, was unmarried. He was killed in the Civil War.
     Sarah Evelyn Gardiner Stogner Nalls (1848-1920) married William Andrew Stogner on 4/25/1872
     Theodosia Posey Gardiner Stogner (8/3/1851-2/6/1895) married 1.) James Baskem Stogner on 12/20/1870 2.) Thomas Richard Nalls on 12/20/1887
     David Columbus Gardier (1855-1916) married Alice M. Bell on 5/22/1878.

     Sarah's half-sister, Charity Stratford Chunn died in 1852. Charity's children, Elisha L., Mary A., William R., Sarah, and Richard Chunn, lived with David and Sarah. David was the Guardian of the children.
     After Sarah and David's daughter, Cynthia Ann, died, they raised her two children Elizabeth Counsel and David William.
     Sarah and David reared a total of 20 children. That does not include the children of their daughter, Theodosia Posey (Lena Pope and James Arthur). Theodosia moved back to her parents' home for a short while after her first husband died. - Huie
