•  "On 4/20/1859, William Francis (1835-1909) married Margaret E. Mitchell (1837-1869). She was the daughter of Pleasant J. Mitchell. William and Margaret's three children were Cynthia Ann, Mariah E., and James Edgar. William served as a first lieutenant in the CSA. After Margaret's death, William married Mary Stogner in 1871. Their children were Maury Styles, Carney, an infant daughter, and Lura Vann. William is buried in Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery." - Huie

•  "He enlisted as a private in Company A, 49th Alabama Infantry. He filed for his pension in Madison County." - Civil War Soldiers
