•  "It is believed Joseph lived in Alabama for twenty years and during this time his family had grown and his wife died. Some of his children continued to live in Alabama but his oldest son James moved to Indiana in 1827, where he administered the estate of a member of the 'Cronk' family relatives of his wife. In 1829 Joseph feeling perhaps a belated urge of wanderlust or perhaps just a need for family, sold his land to Joseph Kelly 22 December 1829 and moved to Indiana." - Genealogy.com
