Gurley Cemetery Styles. (March 14, 1912). Mrs. Martha [Hopkins] Styles died in Chattanooga, Tenn. March 5, 1912. She was born December 1, 1836 in Campbell County, Georgia. Obituaries found in The Huntsville Times of persons buried in this cemetery for whom a tombstone could not be located: Sisk. (Sept. 18, 1970). S. Sgt. Harry Sisk. Woodville. A funeral for S.Sgt. Harry D. Sisk, 24, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Garth Baptist Church with the Rev. Ollie Hall and the Rev. J. T. Liles officiating. Burial will be in Gurley Cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home directing. Sgt. Sisk was reported missing in action in Vietnam more than two years ago. His body was recovered recently when the South Vietnamese army recaptured a village. Survivors include his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Sisk of Woodville; three sisters: Mrs. Winston McGill of Atlanta and Miss Gail Smith and Miss Donna Marie Sisk, both of Woodville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Herbert Sykes of Huntsville and Mrs. Faye Cameron of Grant; two brothers, Herman Ray Sisk of the U. S. Navy and Harvey Sisk Jr. of Woodville; half-brother, James Sisk of Huntsville; and grandparents, Mrs. Mark Sisk of Grant and George Moon of Hollytree. (Aug. 17, 1970). O. C. Barnett. A funeral for O. C. Barnett, 69 of Rt. 1, Gurley, who died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham, are to be announced by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. The body will be at Spry until time of the service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alma Roberta Barnett; a son, John R. (Buddy) Barnett; two sisters, Mrs. Sally Lee and Mrs. Ina Reed, both of Trenton; a half-sister, Mrs. Myrtle Lee of Gurley; three half-brothers, Raymond Barnett of Ramona, Calif., Andrew Barnett of Huntsville and Leon Barnett of Fayetteville, Tenn. (not dated). A funeral for Mrs. Martha Elkins Kelly, 47, of Owens Cross Roads, Rt. 1 Toney, who died Saturday afternoon at Fifth Avenue Hospital [in Huntsville; hospital no longer exists] will be Monday at 2:30 p.m., at Gurley Church of Christ with James Ashworth officiating. -End Gurley Cemetery- 41 - (1024)
