Note: These two Terry graves are surrounded by a stone wall but do not have tombstones. Some family members attest to the fact that this wall surrounds the graves of George and Elizabeth Terry.

....There were four graves here marked with unlettered fieldstones. There was a long expanse of ground between the Terry and the Nichols graves. I was unable to tell if unmarked graves were in the expanse of ground or not but I would be surprised if there were no graves.

Nichols. Annie B., dau. of W. P. & Alice L. Nichols. Born Nov. 12, 1893 - Died Nov. 6, 1909. Sister. Obituary: The Gurley Herald. “ Miss Annie Nichols, 16 year old daughter of William Nichols of New Hope, died at Athens last Saturday. She was the second of the typhoid fever epidemic that recently developed in the Athens Female College. The remains were shipped to Gurley Sunday morning and conveyed to New Hope where interment was made in the family burying ground. The Herald extends sympathy to the bereaved parents and relatives.”
