His Last Will & Testament, dated 22 Aug 1854 & probated Dec. 13, 1858, states he owned the W/2 of NW/4 Sec. 31-5-3E (containing approx. 80 ac.) and the E/2 of E/2 of NE/4 of Sec. 36-5-2E. These lands adjoined and were approx. 1/8 mile east of the Hayden Cemetery where he, his widow, and many of his descendants are buried. According to the 1850 Federal Census he was born in 1789 in NC and probably died in December 1858 which is when his will was probated [Estate file 2224]. Five of his children were born in North Carolina as were he and his wife, Nancy. The children were listed as (1) Nancy W., b. 1821 in NC and m. John W. Taylor. (2) John T., b. 1823 in NC and m. Margaret Ann Smith on 8 Nov 1849. (3) Harriet E. b. 1825 in NC, m. Wm. M. Ledbetter 15 Jan 1857. (4) George S. b. 1828 in NC, wife Sarah. (5) Andrew J. b. 1832 in NC, wife was Ann E.
