Hughes. M. J. M., wife of W. H. Hughes. Born Nov. 17, 1835 - Died July 2, 1888. [Note: William H. Hughes m. Miss Mary J. M. G. Brandon Dec. 23, 1874 by Parson E. N. Maples; Bondsmen were Wm. H. Hughes and John P. Moon on 18 Dec. 1874 who swore both bride and groom were over age 21. The bride's name was written Brandon with “Branum” written over it in a different hand in the index but was written Brandon in the marriage book. Her name is believed to actually be Mary J. M. J. Branum.]
