Buelah Patton Campbell Died April 3, 1960 Aged 65 Turner twins buried here in unmarked graves. (illegible marker) Mrs. Emma Lacy Clay Died June 3, 1957 Aged 50 years Remembers of Liza Clay Born 1904 Died Feb. 12, 1920 HENRY RIGNEY CEMETERY Location: Section 7-3-2E. W/2 NE NE. These two graves were the only ones evident here. They were beside a house on Maysville Road. Henry Rigncy's Last Will & Tcstamcnt was datcd 27 March 1832 and hc dicd three days later. On 9 May 1832, Albcrt C. Kcnncdy was indictcd for Rigncy's murdcr with a changc of vcnuc to Jackson County. Thc governor pardoned him. The Southern Advocate of 7 April 1832 stated Rigney died from a stab wound inflicted by a man named Kenncdy. Hcnry's will also mcntions his wifc “Liddy.” and a brothcr John Rigney. John Rigney was indicted for assault with intent to murder Thomas Johnson 10 November 1831. Thc currcnt Hinds family says Hcnry Rigncy “was mcan.” Henry Rigney Born 11 July 1793 Died 30 March 1832 Lydia Rigney Born 1 Jan. 1794 Died 23 Nov 1880 The Huntsville Independent of 2 December 1880 states Lydia was the daughter of Levi and Huldah Hinds. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee moved to Madison Co., Alabama about 1809 and married Henry Rigney 28 September 1817. The 1870 census shows her making her home with a son, Charles, and helping raise his children. 180 - (1163)
