Marvin E. Meeks Obituary: Huntsville News, 15 Feb 1971. “A funcral for Marvin E. Mccks, 39, of 2817 Ruth Circle, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. J. W. Atchley officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Cemetery with Blythe Funeral Home of New Hope directing. Meeks died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham after a short illness. He was a veteran of the Korean war and a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Meeks; a son, Loran Meeks; a daughter, Diane Meeks, all of Huntsville; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Meeks, New Hope; two brothers, Eugene Meeks, Chattanooga, Earl Meeks, Toney; and a sister, Mrs. Billy Schrimsher, New Hope.
