Cedar Grove Cemetery CEDAR GROVE CEMETERY Location: Section 8-6-2E. S/2 NW. On Oak Grove Road approximately three miles west of New Hope, Al. On 12 February 1879 Adams Lanier deeded one acre of land to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church; The deed was made to T. J. Vann, John H. Rice and John W. Brown, church representatives. The deed was delivered for recording 5 April 1880 and recorded 15 July 1880. It was described as being in the northeast quarter of the “west quarter” of Section 8-6-2E. Buried here without tombstones, according to a descendant, Melvina Phillips, are Philip Pritchett, James Clark and Lucinda (Hill) Clark.
