Moore Chapel (Holmes Cemetery).
Cemetery but older residents call it the Moore Chapel Cemetery. I could locate no Holmes graves in this cemetery. It covers approximately one acre and is literally covered with unmarked graves, graves marked with unlettered fieldstones, and six graves covered with neatly stacked stones. Five of the latter are adult graves and one is that of a child. Copied in 1970.
Moses Miller. Born August 14, 1800 - Died August 17, 1857. Note: m. Rebecca McGaha 25 Dec. 1824.
D. H. Miller - Born Aug. 8, 1849 - Died March 16, 1860. [Footstone : “D. H. M.”]
M. E. Miller - Born June 4, 1846 - Died January 22, 1856.
M. C. T. Miller. Born October 1, 1837 - Died Dec. 12, 1853
Note: The “3” in 1853 could have been a 7; stone chipped. Moses Miller was the father of the above three children. The Miller inscriptions were on four sides of a large obelisk stone.
Arthur Miller died Apr. 12, 1950 aged 70 years

Hodges. In Memory of Mary A. Hodges, wife of Elias A. Hodges. Born January 10, 1830 - Died July 10, 1853 aged 23 years and 6 months. [Note: Mary's beautifully executed marble headstone was buried under many years' accumulation of dirt and leaves. How many others are also buried??]
Clement C. Schrimsher. Born July 13, 1833 - Died Oct. 21, 1850
Note: Clement C. was the son of Andrew J Schrimsher and Nancy L. Crenshaw. He is also a brother to Wiley M. Schrimsher and grandson of William and Elizabeth of NC (see census below).
Nancy E. Schrimsher. Daughter of W. & S. A. Schrimsher. Born January 25, 1847 - Died Sept. 24, 1859.

[ NOTE: Near Fannie's grave was one marked by a crudely carved fieldstone. The carving might have been J. O. S., Joe, Jos, Jo8, etc?]
