Knight, Chewning and Brazell Cemeteries Knight Cemetery Location: Section 36-3-2E. NW SE NW. Across Gurley Pike from Beason Spring and behind some trailer houses. Copied March 9, 1985. Two huge, old trees that once stood at two corners of this cemetery had been cut some time before. The two Jacks tombstones were new. There appeared to be two graves in this cemetery marked by fieldstones but they may have been only stones lying there at random. I was taken to this cemetery by Guy Haislip. Emma Knight Mar. 6, 1841 Nov. 8, 1924 J. W. Knight Feb. 26, 1845 May 29, 1898 Evan Jacks 1803 - 1892 Rachel C. Jacks 1802 - 1890 Chewning Cemetery Location: Section 29-3-2E. E/2 E/2 NE NE Copied 9 March 1985. This stone is behind a trailer home and is an upright marker close to a yard fence. Guy Haislip took me to this cemetery. If there were other graves in this cemetery all evidence of them is now gone. Thadius Chewning Born May 12th 1796 Died Nov. 10th 1848 Brazell Cemetery Location: Found and contributed by Jeff Thompson. Mr. Thompson found this cement tombstone in the Owens Cross Roads area. It is believed to have been removed from its original location. This cement stone may have come from near the Wilson Mann property where logging was going on. It is also possible that it may have come from a subdivision in the area being developed by Richard Brown Realty. Mildred Brazell Died 1937 [No other information] 237 - (1220)
