It is likely that Ann Lanier Rawlins died either during childbirth or as a result of complications thereof, since that was a common cause of death for women of her age at the time. Moreover, Ann's husband Eldred had a daughter named Mary Ann Eliza Rawlins who remained under the age of 21 (per probate court records) until after 1840. Such a daughter, born in 1823 at the time of Ann's death, would be 16 or 17 in 1840 and 26 or 27 in 1850. This daughter married William G. Love in Autauga County, Alabama, on July 25, 1843 - when she would have been about 20 years old, if she was 5 - (1841)
