The fact that her will stipulated that Lucy wished to be buried beside her first husband (John Ives) and by her deceased daughter indicates that the marriage to James Clark was mostly one of “convenience” and companionship in last years. James Clark / Clarke was listed as age 20-30, while his wife (Lucy) was listed as age 30-40 in the 1840 census.
