July 16, 1821 Departed this life, COL. JOHN TAYLOR, formerly of Pendleton, South Carolina. Has been much exposed on his plantation situated on the eastern bank of Alabama 8 or 10 miles below this town. He came on a visit with his family to this place and on the 6th inst. died...He emigrated from Pendleton, South Carolina where he was elected to Congress and continued to serve until he received the appointment of Receiver of Public Monies at the Land Office. He died at the house of his brother, GEN. WILLIAM TAYLOR from which his remains were accompanied to the burying ground by a procession of Masonic brothers... July 30, 1821 Died at the residence of COL. M'CLELLAN about ten miles from town, Mr. JOHN PERKINS, a young man much esteemed, who on his way from Mobile to his place of residence at Vernon was taken sick... Died at the residence of THOMAS A. ROGERS, Esq. about two miles from town, MARY W. ROGERS, his eldest daughter aged 3 years. August 6, 1821 Died in this place about 3 o'clock on Tuesday evening last in her 17th year, Miss SARAH LOWRY, daughter of JOHN LOWRY, Esq. of Maryville, Tennessee... HENRY WILLIAMS advertises that he is not responsible for the debts of his wife, CATHARINE WILLIAMS. August 13, 1821 Married in the vicinity of this place on Tuesday evening last, THOMAS WHITE, Esq. of Cahawba to Miss ELIZABETH LEE, daughter of CAPT. WILLIAM LEE all of this county. Married in Pleasant Valley Thursday evening, Mr. EDWARD WOODS to Miss CATHARINE MORRISON, both of this county. (See our Vol. 90 p. 10) Married in Perry County, Mr. ROBERT SMITH to Miss RUTHY HUNTER. Died in this town Sunday evening last in her 24th year, Mrs. ELIZA KENNEDY, consort of REV. LUCAS KENNEDY. State of Alabama-Wilcox County "Wheras I have been unhappily married to MARY CARTER, daughter of HEZEKIAH CARTER of Baldwin County, Georgia who has by her misconduct deprived me of all peace and happiness on this side of the grave I announce to the world that we are separated forever and ever and, do hereby further forewarn all persons from trading with her as I will not pay her debts." Mr. MOSES AUSTIN, one of the earliest emigrants of that country... Died in Mobile, CAPT. E. RUSSELL, formerly Commander of Steam Boat Tensa. Died at Mr. FRAZIER's on the way from Pensacola to Cahawba, EDWARD BURROUGHS, Esq. merchant of Mobile, aged about 28 years. Native of Boston and was highly esteemed. Died in this town on Tuesday last, Mr. JAMES BELL, carpenter, native of Ireland aged about 30. Died at his residence in Tuskaloosa County on the 24th inst. COL. RICHARDSON OWEN, Revolutionary officer in his 78th year. August 27, 1821 Died in this place on the 24th inst... BENJAMIN W. TAYLOR, son of BOWLING HALL TAYLOR of Montgomery County. A responsible carpenter and a young man of benevolent character... Died Sunday the 26th inst. DAVID DALTON, Esq. Clerk of the County Court of this county in his 26th year.
