June 14, 1830
Mr. JOHN MOCK, residing in Bogue Chitto, Dallas County was murdered on the 28th ult. He was a native of North Carolina.

Died in this county on the 18th inst. WILLIAM P. MCDOWELL, Esq. highly respected citizen and a promising member of the Bar. Native of Fayette County, Kentucky, where his father and numerous relations still reside. The funeral will be held with Masonic honors at the residence of his brother, in this county on the 19th inst.

Died on Monday the 21st ult. at his residence near Springfield, MAJOR WILLIAM CHILES aged 56 years.

Died Thurs. evening on the 15th inst. Mrs. NANCY KENNARD, wife of JAMES P. KENNARD of this vicinity.

Died on the night of the 20th inst. in this vicinity, Miss ELIZA D. STEELE aged 14 years, daughter of JAMES D. and MARY STEELE, all of Jones County, Georgia (Communicated).

Died at her residence in this county on the 28th ult. after a painful illness, Mrs. VIRGINIA BAYOL in her 19th year.
Married on Thursday evening, the 22nd inst. by REV. JAMES HILLHOUSE, REV. THOMAS ALEXANDER of Dallas to Miss MARGERY, second daughter of CAPT. ROBERT BELL of Perry County.

Died on the 20th at the residence in Greene County, SAMUEL ARCHIBALD, Esq. aged 68 years and 3 months, of pulmonary consumption; native of North Carolina and when very young man, an active soldier in the Revolutionary war and for many years a number and elder in the Presbyterian Church (Communicated).
Died at DR. WILLIAM PURNELL's in Greene County Saturday 31st of July, DR. E.P. STEELE, late from South America. His sister will hear something much to her interest by applying to DR. WILLIAM PURNELL. Editors of Kentucky Reporter and St. Louis Beacon please publish.
