June 2, 1831 Died on Tuesday the 24th at his residence in this county, Mr. EDWARD FINCH at an advanced age. Died at Springfield on the 25th inst. Mr. PHILIP WEAVER some time a resident of that place. Married at Prairie Bluff on 19th inst. by REV. JOHN W. WILSON, Mr. WILLIAM J. DEXTER to Miss JULIET ATWOOD, sister of Mr. HENRY S. ATWOOD respected merchant of that place. Married on 29th inst. by S.K. JENNINGS, Esq. Mr. JAMES GAIDY (GEDDY in marriage record) to Miss CATHARINE PHARES, both of the vicinity of this place. June 23, 1831 Married on the 19th inst. by HON. T.F. MOODY, Mr. SEABORNE DUKE to Miss ELIZA SHEPHERD all of this vicinity. June 30, 1831 Married on Thursday, the 23rd inst. by REV. JOSEPH CUNNINGHAM, Mr. WILLIAM M. MURPHEY, attorney at law of Erie to Miss AMANDA MALVINA, daughter of Mr. BAKER HOBSON of Carthage, Tuscaloosa County. Married on Monday the 27th inst. by SAMUEL K. JENNINGS, Esq. Mr. GREEN B. STALLINGS, late of Georgia to Mrs. SARAH STALLINGS, widow of Mr. CADER STALLINGS, of this vicinity. July 14, 1831 Married on Thursday 7th inst. by HON. T.F. MOODY, Mr. REUBEN SEY (SEAY) to Miss ANN M'GEE, both of the vicinity of this place. Married on the 7th inst. by Mr. R. FORTSON to Miss HARRIET, daughter of Mr. JOSIAH RICKS, all of this county. On the same day, WILLIAM PERTEET to Miss CALLIHAM NELSON both of this co. July 21, 1831 Married on Tuesday 19th inst. by REV. R.G. CHRISTOPHER, Mr. WILLIAM MCALPIN, to Miss ANN WATSON, all of this county. July 28, 1831 Died on the 24th inst. at her residence in Springfield, Mrs. ELIZABETH HORNER, consort of Mr. BENJAMIN HORNER. Death caused by mental derangement, veiled in darkest mystery. Paper in mourning for death of JAMES MONROE. August 4, 1831 Died in Mobile after a short illness on the 22nd ult. Mrs. CORNELIA L. SANFORD, consort of Mr. THADDEUS SANFORD, Editor of the Register in her 26th year. August 25, 1831 Died, Mr. CARSON, a young man lately from Kentucky and also Mr. RICHARD S. LEWIS, from same state. Mr. CARSON died Thursday evening last of bilious fever. Mr. LEWIS died Saturday last of the same disease. FREDERICK RAVESIES, administrator of estate of JOSEPH ETIENNE GARDIEN, deceased. September 15, 1831 Died on Monday, 5th of September, MAJOR WILLIAM M. MARR, at Blount Springs. Highly respected citizen and one of early settlers in this town. He was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, was educated as a physician, emigrated to Tennessee in 1798 and from thence to this place in January 1819. He was 49 in May last. Volunteer officer in the Creek War of 1813, 1814. Left a wife and eleven children (From Spirit of the Age, Tuscaloosa). Married on the 8th inst. by HON. T.F. MOODY, Mr. JAMES A BEAL, Deputy Marshall of Southern District of Alabama to Miss MARTHA ANN, eldest daughter of Mr. JAMES YEATES, Clerk of the Circuit Court, all of this place. 15. - (3315)
