Register of Graduates & Students of University of Ala. 1831-1901 by THOMAS WAVERLY PALMER shows that AUGUSTUS CALDWELL HUTTON, class of 1861, enrolled from Hopewell, Greene Co. 1860, son of JOHN NEWTON HUTTON, West Greene Co. and ELIZA JANE WATKINS, A.C.H. born Sept. 23, 1841, Private in Co. B 36th Ala. Reg. CSA, died in Tuscaloosa Jan 8, 1898. Did JOHN N. HUTTON marry two sisters, or were ELLA and ELIZA the same? P.J.G. (This marriage not on record in either Greene or Sumter Co. ) Died on Saturday evening, 30th ult. in Greene County at her residence, Mrs. MARY BECK, consort of ALFRED BECK, Esq. in her 42nd year...
