June 7, 1836 Died in this place on the 2nd, Mrs. ______BINNS, consort of CHARLES BINNS, Esq. BENJ. W. JOHNSON, deceased. June 14, 1836 Died on Sunday night the 12th inst. in this place of scarlet fever, ELIZABETH, daughter of JAMES SAVAGE, Esq. in her 9th year. June 21, 1836 Married on Sunday evening the 19th inst. by W.B. OCHILTREE, Esq. Mr. WILLIAM JOHNSTON, merchant of this place to Miss MARGARET, daughter of CAPT. DRUMMOND of this county. June 28, 1836 Died in this place on Wednesday morning the 22d, MARY ELIZABETH SCOTT aged about 4 years (poem). Died in this town on Tuesday the 21st, ELIZABETH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JOHN CLARK aged 6 years. Died in this county on 18th inst. CALVIN H. DAVIS in 12th year, son of Mrs. CHRISTOPHER DAVIS. Died in this county on 22d inst., COL. THOMAS HENDERSON in the 50th year of his age. Native of Rockingham County, North Carolina. Very soon after he attained his majority, he removed to the city of Raleigh and became editor of The Star...The family of COL. HENDERSON are remarkable for intelligence, different members for a long time have been the pride of the bar and bench of his native State... About 1819 he emigrated to Madison County, Tennessee, where he lost his amiable companion... In the autumn of 1835 he removed to this county. His health continued gradually to decline until he received intelligence of the death of his son, LIEUT. RICHARD HENDERSON of U.S. Army, who fell with MAJOR DADE in the Seminole War, since which time he delicned rapidly until the period of his dissolution. July 5, 1836 Died in this place Wednesday the 29th, ISABELLA S. beautiful and interesting little daughter of S.B. BOYD, Esq. aged 5 years. Died Thursday the 30th, ANDREW JACKSON, infant son of JAMES SAVAGE, Esq. of this place. DARLING MASSY, deceased. ANN MASSY, administratrix. GEORGE W. FREELAND, deceased. ELEANOR FREELAND to have lands belonging to estate sold to pay debts. Orphans Court sale. (See our Vol. 17 page 48 for marriage of GEORGE W. FREELAND to NELLY STALSWORTH, 28 Sept. 1835.) July 12, 1836 Died at the residence of her father in this place on the 6th, Miss DORINDA, daughter of Mr. WILLIAM EARBEE in her 15th year...Methodist Episcopal... July 19, 1836 Married in this county on 12th, Mr. MEREDITH PUGH of Clark (Co.) to Miss CATHERINE JANE, youngest daughter of CAPT. STEPHEN NOBLE. Also on same evening by WADE R. THOMAS, Esq. Mr. DANIEL E. HARPER to Miss ELIZABETH GORMAN. Vol. 117, p. 54. On 14th, Mr. JAMES HAGAN to Miss MARY MARTIN. (See our Vol. 17 p. 57 for marriage of JAMES HAGANS to REBECCA MARTIN July, 1836.) Died in Greene County on 13th, Mrs. CAROLINE KIRKPATRICK, aged 21, consort of Mr. WILKINS KIRKPATRICK, and daughter of the late WILLIAM DILLIARD, Esq. of Orange County, North Carolina...Methodist Episcopal... Died in this place Tuesday, the 12th, CAPT. WILLIAM L. RUSH aged about 25. Left an affectionate wife and 2 children. July 26, 1836 Died in this place this morning, JOSEPH son of JAMES SAVAGE, Esq., aged about 10 years. LEVIN WATKINS advertises he is no longer responsible for debts of his wife HENRIETTA WATKINS, lately HENRIETTA WHITE, as she has left no bed and board. 22. - (3322)
