(See our Vol. 177 p. 56 for marriage of JAMES MADISON GUNN to SARAH C. BARBER 21 Oct. 1836. In 1850 Census Choctaw Co. Ala. he was 35 b. Tenn, and she 33 b. SC.) November 8, 1836 Died in this place on 1st after lingering illness, Mrs. MILLY (or NELLY? - blurred) HANCOCK in her 68th year. Died in this place on Thursday the 3d Mrs. DERLINDA WILEY, consort of Mr. TAYLOR WILEY, in her 45th year. Leaves husband and several small children. (1840 T. Co.) Died in this place on Monday evening last aged 9 months, RICHARD ARNOLD, interesting child of Mr. and Mrs. COUNCIL R. WRIGHT. Died at the residence of A(LEX) H(AMILTON) FALCONER, Esq. in the Fork, Greene County, on Saturday the 29th, Miss MARY PUGH FALCONER, youngest daughter of the late ALEXANDER FALCONER, Esq. of Franklin County, North Carolina. Miss FALCONER emigrated to this state last winter in company with her brother and family... (1850 Census Greene Co. Ala. shows one ALEXANDER H. FALCONER aged 50 b. N.C.) Died at the family residence in Kemper County, Mississippi Wednesday 12th October last in 27th year, Mrs. SUSAN A. DAVIS, consort of THOMAS DAVIS, Jr. Her illness was of a bilious character, but so stubborn that it baffled the skill of the physicians and on the 8th day of the attack, her spirit took its everlasting flight... ALFRED BECK in his 52nd year... DANIEL WOMACK, deceased. JESSE WOMACK, administrator. CHESLEY R. GUIN, deceased. (1830 Perry Co.) November 22, 1836 ELI TOOL (1830 Dallas Co.) deceased. His late residence in Lauderdale County, Mississippi near Alamuchie Olt Town to be sold. Administrators: DAVID and JOSEPH TOOL and A.P. MCCURDY. (1830 Dallas Co.) (1 DAVID m. in Perry Co. in 1833.) DR. WILLIAM D. JEFFERSON (late practitioner of medicine in Virginia) advertises that he will practice in Sumter and Greene near Jones Bluff. (1850 Census Sumter Co. Ala. shows DR. WILLIAM D. JEFFERSON aged 35 born in Va. and family.) November 29, 1836 Married at the house of SEBORNE MIMS, Esq. in this vicinity on Thursday evening last, Mr. WILLIAM A. MIMS to Miss MARY JANE DILLIARD, daughter of the late WILLIAM DILLIARD, Esq. of Orange County, North Carolina. (1850 Census shows WM. A. MIMS aged 32 b. Ga.; MARY J. age 30 b. NC; also see our Vol. 117 p. 57 for marriage record.) Died at his residence in Talladega on 14th, HON. SAMUEL W. MARDIS, formerly Representative in Congress from this District. December 13, 1836 JAMES R. BATTLE advertises 200 acres of land 4 miles East of Livingston. December 20, 1836 Married on 25th by W.P. JONES, Esq. Mr. JOHN SMITH to Miss NANCY ARNOLD, both of Sumter County. (See our Vol. 117 p. 57 for marriage.) Died at the residence of ALEXANDER CHAPMAN, Esq. of this vicinity on Friday morning last, Mr. GEORGE TODD, formerly of Caroline County, Virginia in the 23rd year of his age...
