SCRUGGS, Mr. WILLIAM C. LAND, Jeweller, to Miss LYDIA MCCANTS. (See marriage record in our Vol. 117, p. 64.) August 29, 1837 Nothing of interest. September 3, 1837 Died in this place on 22nd, ANN EUNICE aged 7 years eldest daughter of Mr. ROBERT ARRINGTON. Married in this county in the vicinity of this place Thursday evening last, Mr. DANIEL GOULD to Miss ELIZA ANN, eldest daughter of W.D. LANGHAM, Esq. (In 1850 Census DANIEL was aged 35 b. Ala., his wife 27 b. Ala. See our Vol. 117 p. 64 for marriage record.)....she copied mar. 28 July 1837. September 12, 1837 SEBASTIAN HOUPT, deceased. Court ordered to notify MATILDA HOUPT, executrix and all others concerned that peitiion for final action is to be held. (Note: In 1850, MATILDA was aged 56 b. Ga.; she married again March 15, 1846 to MERRETT HODGINS. SEBASTIAN "HOUGH" married in Clarke Co. Ala. Aug. 21, 1817 MATILDA BREWSTER. September 26, 1837 Married on Wednesday evening the 13th, Jr. JOHN OVERSTREET to Miss EMILY HILLIARD, daughter of WILLIAM HILLIARD, (2d wife...his 1st was ELIZABETH), all of this county. (See marriage in our Vol. 117 page 66). (Client of L.L. McNees, 1860. Client is Alberta Overstreet Powers, 5508 Ave. M, Birmingham, Ala.) Married at Gaston Tuesday evening the 19th, DR. ROBERT L. HUNTER to Miss MARY LOUISA, eldest daughter of THOMAS B. WALLACE, Esq. of that village. (See our Vol. 117 p. 65 for marriage record. In 1850 Census he was age 38 b. N.C.) Married in this county on Wednesday evening last by W.J. STEELE, Esq. Mr. WILLIAM LONG to Miss MARTHA ANN, daughter of JOHN J. BURTON, Esq. (See our Vol. 117, p. 66 for marriage record.) October 3, 1837 Married in the vicinity of Jameston, on Thursday evening last by REV. WILIE J. STANTON, Mr. JONES SOUTH to Miss SARAH, daughter of MITCHEL WADKINS, all of this county. His former wife was MARIA A.; was son of ELISHA COLLINS, Revolutionary soldier of Greene Co. Ala.) Married in Marengo County, Tuesday evening the 19th, DR. DAVID M. DUNLAP of Clinton, Greene County, to Miss ELIZABETH THOMPSON of Marengo. (In 1850 Census Choctaw Co. Ala. he was aged 43 b. S.C.; she was 30 b. Ala.) October 10, 1837 Died in the vicinity of this place today, Mr. SAMUEL M. BERRY, late of Jackson County in this State but for the last several months an esteemed citizen of this place, aged about 23... He was taken with a violent fever whilst on his return from Mobile... Editor of Bellefonte Star and Huntsville Advocate please copy. October 30, 1837 Died in this vicinity Friday morning last, Mr. ROBERT CAMPBELL, a worthy and respectable young gentleman. 28. - (3328)
