October 13, 1866 Married on the 3d inst. by ELDER A. R. SCARBOROUGH, JOHN KENNEDY of New Orleans and ELLEN McBRIDE (12 A, daughter of JAMES) of this county. Died on the 30th in Greene County, Alabama after a short illness, Mr. SAMUEL WRIGHT, son of P. T. (PLEASANT T.?) WRIGHT, Esq. aged about 20 years. October 20, 1866 Executor's sale----H. W. KILLEN, executor of JOSIAH MOORE's (45 T) estate advertises property for sale. Died in Wilmington, North Carolina on the 20th of congestive fever, Miss PAULINE F., daughter of WM. KIRKLAND, SR. of this place in her 19th year.... Sale of personal property of ROBERT L. BROWN, deceased by I. C. BROWN executor. Residence 2 miles south of Sumterville for sale. November 17, 1866 Married at the residence of the bride's father on the 13th ult. by REV. WM. CHERRY, Mr. R. W. LAWLER to Miss M. V. GILLESPIE, all of this county. Died in this county on Saturday the 10th at the residence of H. L. BENNETT, Esq. Mr. JOSEPH B. GREENLEES (7 A) aged 23 years and 10 months. Died in this county on the 6th of November 1866 at his residence, CAPT. RICHARD DUNFORD SHACKELFORD (56 V) in his 74th year. Born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia November 11th, 1792. He served during the war of 1812 and after the close of it, moved to this state, settling in Perry County. Afterwards he moved to Sumter County, where he lived for a number of years, a highly esteemed, honorable and reliable citizen. As a husband and father, he was kind and affectionate.... Like others, he had his faults, but his goodness of heart outshone all.... November 24, 1866 THOMAS B. BILLUPS, deceased. J. G. HARRIS, general administrator. ROBERT M. BEGGS, deceased.
