January 12, 1867 Died in Tompkinsville, Choctaw County on the 31st of December 1866, CAPT. CHARLES EUGENE RHODES in his 26th year. Native of Sumter County, Alabama. He was an only son. He succeeded in raising a company of cavalry for the war. At the battle of Lafayette he was captured and remained some 12 months in captivity on Johnson's Island.... Wanted: Mr. R. H. YARBROUGH, a disable Confederate soldier wants some information of his father, JAMES YARBROUGH (65 SC, Barton County), who emigrated to this state (Texas) from Calhoun County, Alabama in 1862. Born in Spartanburg District, South Carolina in the year 1798, where he resided until 1820 when he emigrated to Greene County, Alabama where he lived until 1835 when he moved to this place at which he died.
