WALLS CEMETERY (25) LOCATION: Section 22-1S-2W - S/2 S/2 SW SE Courthouse land records show that one-half (1/2) acre in the southeast corner of Sec. 22-1S-1W was "excepted" in 1857 as the Walls Cemetery. The SE corner of Section 22-1S-1W is the northwest corner of the Ready Section Road and Pulaski Pike intersection. Long-time residents of the community say they do not remember there ever being a cemetery at that location but there was one located on Ready Section Road just a quarter mile west of that intersection. I was told that in about 1949 the county cut the road through there and since the cemetery was in the way, and it was less trouble to destroy than move, it was destroyed. 121 - (338)
