"I write stories for publication in Confederate Postal System, Postmasters, etc. I am writing a story on Livingston 5c Postmaster Provisional, which Mr. STEPHEN W. MURLEY had printed in 1861. He was Postmaster of Livingston during the Civil War. I want to trace his descendants; hoping they have in their possession that would show who printed this stamp and when.") STEPHEN WELLINGTON MURLEY was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1813 and removed to Selma, Alabama in 1837. From Selma he removed to Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama in 1841, where he resided until his death, which occurred May 7, 1868 after a protracted illness. He was married August 28th, 1838 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Miss ANN BEEBE, who died April 24, 1852 leaving her husband and four children, three daughters and one son.
