May 3, 1872 Married by REV. A. R. SCARBOROUGH on 25th at the residence of Mr. GEO. MORRIS, Mr. J. P. HANCOCK to Mrs. E. PARKER, all of this county. We were in error in our issue on 12th inst. in speaking of death of Mr. WILLIAM GARRETT, formerly of this county in saying that he committed suicide. Verdict "accidental death from drowning." May 10, 1872 Died near Sumterville on 6 of April, 1872, Mr. JAMES HUTCHINS aged 78. Brother HUTCHINS was born in South Carolina Jan. 28th, 1794. In 1820, he emigrated to Greensboro, Alabama, where he married and joined the Baptist Church. In 1835, he moved to Sumter Co. Ala. Soon after the Surrender, he was attacked with paralysis. Interred in graveyard at Gainesville. Bereaved family. May 17, 1872 On Friday last at York Station, Mr. JOHN BRADSHAW, a former employee on A & CRR was found dead in his bed. May 24, 1872 Mr. WILLIAM LOCKARD (45 SC), another old citizen, one of the first settlers in this community died on morning of 22nd after a long and painful illness. Estate of THOMAS M. June 14, 1872 Died in San Francisco, Cal. on 20th, Mrs. LOUISA E. INGE (30 NC), relict of HON. SAMUEL W. INGE (33 NC) who represented 4th Ala. District in Congress for 4 years commencing in 1845 or 1847. She was born in Warrenton, N. C. and was the oldest daughter of REV. W. W. and Mrs. ANNE HILL, who moved from Warrenton, N. C. to vicinity of Greensboro in fall of 1834. She leaves 2 sons, the older a citizen of Greensboro, the younger of San Francisco; two brothers and two sisters besides other relatives. Her age was about 50 years. June 21, 1872 Again the people of Sumter are called upon to mourn the loss of one of its oldest citizens, JUDGE (TURNER) REAVIS (38 NC). For last 30 or 35 years, he has been identified with all the interests of our country. Died very suddenly on 14 at his residence in Gainesville. June 28, 1872 Estate of S. G. ESKRIDGE, deceased. S.
