JAMES I. WINDHAM, deceased. ROBERT HIBBLER, adm'r. Died at his residence near Intercourse, Sumter Co. Ala. on 5 May 1873, Mr. LEMUEL B. HALE (40 NC). Born in Marion District, S. C. in October, 1809, came to Alabama 1824 and was in his 64th year. He was a man of strong will and was remarkably tenacious of his opinions, which he never yielded without convincing argument. He was a good man. Member of church since he was 18. In memory of WILLIAM JABAL PRAYTOR (6/12 A, s. of JAS. T. and MARY C.) born December 30, 1849 in Sumter Co. died in Birmingham, Alabama April 27, 1873. Half orphaned by the war, he lived with his widowed mother and brothers and sisters. (Was engaged by Southern Express Co.) Mr. C. D. ARMSTRONG was drowned in Beach Creek, Dallas Co. last week. Mrs. MASSEY, wife of REV. DR. (J. A.) MASSEY, Rector of Trinity Church, Mobile died very suddenly on 13th. May 30, 1873 Mr. JAMES P. KENNARD (46 T) died at the residence of his son-in-law, DR. M(ICHAEL) C(LAIBORNE) KENNARD (m. his SARAH KENNARD) in Livingston on 3 May 1873. He was born 27th November 1803 (Mrs. J. copied 1801) in Williamson Co. Tenn, and was therefore in his 70th year of his age. His parents being comparatively poor could not give him the advantages of a good primary education; and so, while quite young, he was placed in a mercantile house. He was among the first settlers in this county. Having moved to it in the fall of 1830. He was elected Circuit Court Clerk in 1838 and re-elected in 1842 and 1846, thus filling the office 12 years. This office was a very lucrative one; and he was thus enabled, by using strict economy and great industry to pay off a large old debt and accumulate a handsome property. He was a kind, obliging and efficient officer. He was conscientious, honorable, high-toned and Christian gentleman. His honesty was proverbial. As husband, brother, father and master, he was ever kind and provident. Joined the Presbyterian Church in this town in 1839; and a few months afterwards was elected Deacon. HELEN D. and R. P. NOBLE, adm'rs of EDWARD W. LOVE, deceased. June 6, 1873 Died on Sunday morning, June 1, Mr. HENRY OTTO VOSS born in Berlinchen, Prussia; aged 33. During the war, he was a member of Scott's La. COURTNEY BAKER, son of GENERAL ALPHEUS BAKER of Eufaula died suddenly at his father's residence in that city some days ago of congestion of the brain, aged 20. June 20, 1873 JUDGE COCHRAN, a very prominent citizen of Eufaula died suddenly of cholera morbus a few days ago. June 27, 1873 Mrs.FLORENCE FULLER, a sister-in-law of PROF.
