November 21, 1873 Died on the 18th near Livingston, Mrs. MARY A. V. SPROTT, wife of JOHN SPROTT in her 21st year. MAJ. E. C. ELMORE, Ex-Treasurer of the Confederate States died in Pensacola on the 13th. November 28.1873 PRUDENCE LOWRY, deceased. Joint owners of land: D. W. December 5, 1873 Married on the 25th, Mr. JAS. A. ALLEN of Birmingham and Mrs. SUSAN LANG of Ramsey's Station, this county. Mr. JAMES R. SMITH (34 NC), lately an old resident of Sumter died on Deer Creek, Miss, on 19th after a brief illness. REV. C. P. RODEFER, who some 3 years ago had charge for a short time of St. James' Parish, Livingston is now located in Franklin, Tenn. FRANK A. MONROE, editor of Conecuh-Escambia Star was married on the 20th to Miss NURSIE A. AUTREY. Estate of HUDSON P. LIPSCOMB, SR., HUDSON P. LIPSCOMB, JR., adm'r. December 12, 1873 Married at the residence of Mrs. CATHARINE DEAN, this county on 10th by REV. J. S. FRIERSON, CAPT. M. V. MITCHEL of Polk Co. Mo. and Mrs. JULIA E. HUMPHRIES of Sumter. Died of pneumonia in Livingston on 7 Dec. DR. JOSEPH A. SMITH (35 NC) aged about 61. A second time within a few weeks has death visited the family of which he was a member. On Nov. 19, JAMES R. SMITH, formerly of this county died on Deer Creek, Miss, at the age of 58. Remains deposited alongside grave of his mother. Graduate of U of Pa. 1834, department of medicine. In 1836, he removed from Wayne Co. N. C. the home of his ancestors to Livingston, Ala. MAJOR A. J. PHARES, formerly of this county is now enroute to Sumter Co. Florida. JOSEPH J. LITTLE, deceased. Estate insolvent. CHARLES COOKE, administrator of V. R. SOULE (is this Va., w. of JOHN M.?), deceased. Final settlement of estate. Mr. ROBERT HATTEN of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Livingston has opened a branch of his saddlery establishment in Meridian, Miss. December 19, 1873 Married by REV. A. R. SCARBOROUGH on 17th at residence of the bride's father, Mr. J. C. GILES of Mississippi to Miss FANNIE LEARD of this county. Died on the 9th, Mr. AUSTIN PRESTWOOD (53 G) in his 77th year, at the residence of his son, NEWTON PRESTWOOD (18 A) near Livingston. Sale of personal property of ASA JOHNSON, deceased. HAMILTON P.
