MR. B. S. BARKER, Intendant of Livingston died at early hour Monday morning. Health had been failing several months. MR. W. P. BREWER who moved to Louisiana soon after the surrender, this week returned to Sumter to stay. JOHN CLAYTON ot Pickens Co. is 86; was married to his present wife in 1814 and at the late election rode several miles to vote the Democratic ticket. "GRANDMA" BULLARD of Bullock Co. aged 81 was about starting for Texas last week, but on reaching the depot at Union Springs she broke her leg and trip was postponed. NOTICE OF APPLICATION: To JOHN C. Had been a most gallant Confederate soldier; was a good mechanic and well-disposed man, but unfortunately had an uncontrollable appetitie for strong drink, which marred his usefullness. Married on the 21 at residence of MR. ----PREWITT, Sumter Co. by L. LEWIS, Esq., MR. WILLIAM TUCKER and MISS ALICE RHINEHART. Died on the 9th near St~ Stephens, Washington Co., REV. THOMAS I. FLLIOTT (58 T) aged 76 years and 6 days. For 30 years, the deceased resided near Gaston, this county. February 5, 1875 On Monday, MR. JOHN HALL, watchman for the R. R. Bridge at Jones' Bluff lost his life. Drowned, Native of Greene Co. and had been a member of Capt. Gould's Co. 20th Alabama Regiment. 126 - (3426)
