MR. NAT. ROBINSON was found dead near Opelika last week. Head was lying in a branch and it was supposed he drowned. February 12, 1875 Tribute of respect to memory to RICHARD E. February 19, 1875 MR • JEREMIAH HORN (Tenn II 67, sent to Gwen Horn), father of COL. A(lex?) G. HORN (sold printing press 1838), Editor of Meridian Mercury died in this county on night of 9th aged 82. Native of Edgecomb (now Wilson) Co. N. C. and moved to this county in 1834. Some 25 years ago, he removed to East Miss, where he resided up to time of his death. He was a man of great probity of character and enjoyed the respect of all who knew him. JUDGE (illeg) L. B. STRANGE (38 SC; m in Mtgy Co. 1840 Hetnutial Westmoreland) died suddenly near Tuskegee a few days ago. Will of JACOB HORN - Edgecombe Co. N.C. probated 1827 the names Daus. MELICENT FARMER, MOURNING COBB, EDI SIMMS Sons JEREMIAH, THOMAS, HENRY, JOSIAH R. , WILLIAM Gr-son THOMAS HORN and his sister SALLY G-dau POLLY TUCKER ARMSTEAD STEPHENS CROOM, Esq. was married to MISS MARY H. MARSHALL in Mobile on 3rd. MRS. W. A. COPE of Bullock Co. was fatally burned week before last. MRS. ELIZABETH HOWELL of Pickens County aged 80 has 9 sons and 5 daughters living and all members of the church. Seven of her sons were in the Confederate army. February 26, 1875 Married on the 17 at the residence of MR. JOS. GREENLEE by REV. A. R. SCARBOROUGH, MR. THOS. FITZPATRICK and MISS BELLE GREENLEE, all of this county. PATTIE C. FERGUSON, a pioneer citizen of Pickens Co. committed suicide on 17th. March 19, 1875 On 3rd, MR. BEN W. LITTLE of Sumter married MISS EMMA F. SOMERVILLE of Pickens Co. DR. JAMES R. MILLS of Choctaw Co. has removed to Dallas, Texas. EMMET L. WOOTEN, a printer died in Marion on 9th. Young man of promise. MRS. PRATT, widow of the late DANIEL PRATT died recently in Prattville, Ala. Native of New Hampshire, aged 74. March 26, 1875 MR. ALEXANDER S. WILSON, son of MR. GEORGE WILSON, who was stricken with oaralysis last summer died from an apoplectic stroke Sunday night. 127 - (3427)
