MRS. CYNTHIA V. HONEYCUTT, administratrix of THOMAS R. HONEYCUTT, deceased. October 9, 1873 The wife of COL. OSCEOLA KYLE of Wetumpka died at that place last week, MR. C. M. CABOT and COL. BENNET S. GRIFFIN both prominent citizens of this place died there a few days ago. Married in Selma at BaDtist Church on 2nd by MR. E. B. TEAGUE, MR. MERRITT BURNS to MISS E. E. PHILPOT. Married on 3 October at Alamo House in this city by REV. C. C. ELLIS, MR. THOMAS NETTLES of Montgomery to MISS MARY McCALL of Saluria, Shelby County (Birmingham Independent) October 16, 1873 MR. THOMAS ABERCROMBIE, brother-in-law of the late GEN. JAMES H. CLANTON and 1st Lieutenent in Co. I 1st Alabama Cavalry Regiment died at his residence near Rayville, Louisiana on 20th. MAJ. WILLIAM McDUFF, a soldier of the War of 1812, under GEN. FLOYD and a resident of Leak County, Mississippi died at the residence of MR. A. J. CROSS, Sr. in Cahaba Valley on 25 September. MAJ. McDUFF was 88 years of age last June. He was father-in-law of MR. CROSS and was on a visit to friends and relatives in this section. He was born in Union District, South Carolina and his father was a soldier under GEN. WASHINGTON. NOTE: HARRIET BELL McDUFF (1816-1875) married ANDREW JACKSON CROSS. W. T. OZLEY has opened a Dry Goods and Grocery store at Shelby Springs. October 23, 1873 W. H. FELLOWS, administrator advertises lands of estate of EXUM B. MELTON, deceased, for sale. MRS. RANDALL, widow of the late BENJAMIN RANDALL, died near Montevallo last Thursday. NOTE: MRS. NANCY RANDALL (1815-1873) October 30, 1873 MR. JOHN W. JONES, son-in-law of DANIEL McLEOD of this county died at Cropwell, St. Clair Co. last Saturday. Died near Shelby Iron Works last Friday, SAMUEL BAKER brother-in-law of H. C. NABORS. Died in Tuscaloosa on 15th, ALICE VIRGINIA, infant daughter of HON. B. B. and ROSE GARLAND LEWIS aged 6 mo. November 6, 1873 MRS. HORTON, wife of RANSOM HORTON of this county, died last Sat. at their residence. November 13, 1873 Only one page there. End of bound volume.
