LEWIS CEMETERY (?) LOCATION: Section 26-2S-1W -NW NW NE NW. LEWIS, SARAH E. - Born April 5, 1854, died Feb. 17, 1859 aged 4 years, 10 mo., 12 days. LEWIS, IKANA - Born Feb. 28, 1858, died March 30, 1859, aged 1 year, 1 mo., 2 days. LEWIS, JAMES W. - Born Sept. 13, 1852, died June 6, 1859, aged 6 years, 8 mo., and 23 days. KING, HENRY B. - Born March 31st, 1856, died April 15, 1858, aged 2 years and 5 days. JOHNSON, JOHN R. B. - In Memory of John R. B. Johnson born Feb. 25 , 1795 , died October 8, 1860. Note: The beautiful marble marker of John R. B. Johnson is broken and lying on the ground in many pieces. Note: On maps of this area this cemetery is called the "Pope". The Negro Pope family, and others of that race, have used this cemetery for many years. However, the only white people buried here that have markers are those above. The cemetery is located in a beautiful spot atop a high hill and shaded by lofty cedars. Census, Nov. 4, 1850: Johnson, John R. B. (55) Va., farmer Winaphred (43) Va. Judeth ( 8) Ala. Harlis, John W. (26) Ala., farmer STRONG CEMETERY (?) LOCATION: Sec. 36-2S-1W. SE SE SE. In Mt. Charron, just off North Memorial Parkway in a clump of trees and brush. STRONG, CHARLES W. - Born in Goochland, Virginia August 11, 1804, died Feb. 23, 1871. STRONG, NANNIE V. - Born June 3, 1846 - died Jan. 23, 1869. DAVIS, CHARLES W. - Born October 21, 1859 - died August 23, 1860. DAVIS, HOBART S. - ........died August 10, 1861. (Stone broken and parts of it are missing. Note: Charles W. Strong built the fine old home which sits on the hill top just north of the Cemetery. He was the son of George and Sally Strong who came to Alabama with their children prior to 1820. Many descendants of this pioneer family still live in Madison County. 127 - (345)
