August 5, 1840 Died of consumption on Wednesday evening 29th ult. MISS HARRIETTE TRIPLETT MARTIN aged 18 years and 9 months only daughter of HON. PETER MARTIN of this city. August 12, 1840 Died at his residence near this place of congestive fever on morning of 4th inst. after a few days illness, MR. EDWARD SIMS aged 57 years. Native of North Carolina then resided in Elbert County, Ga. and for last 20 years has been a resident of this county. August 6, 1840 Died in this city Wednesday 19th inst. HELEN VIRGINIA, daughter of JOHN and ANN W. MARRAST aged 8 years 5 months and 16 days. Died Wednesday last at Linden after a short illness in 19th year EDWARD OSCAR, eldest son of MR. MATHEW HOBSON of this place. Died in this city last night, MR. MICHAEL GLEASON, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa. in 20th year. September 9, 1840 Died of congestive fever after illness of five days in this city on Sat. 5th inst. MRS. HARRIETT B. NEAL in 26th year, consort of LEONARD B. NEAL. Affectionate wife and mother. September 23, 1840 Died at the residence of his father in Tuscaloosa County on 16th Sept, of congestive fever, ALGERNON S. KENNON in 23rd year. Graduate of LaGrange College in this state. Died on yesterday morning 22d inst. after short but severe attack of congestive fever aged 45 years, MR.
