March 9, 1842 ETHEL alias ELLIS DRED PORTER in August 1841 murdered STARNES M. WELBOURNE. Reward to deliver him to sheriff of Marengo County. PORTER described as being about 35 or 40 years old. Obituary Communicated: Died at the residence of her father in New Town Friday morning last, MISS MARGARET CUMMINGS in her 15th year. Killed when a tornado razed the house. March 16, 1842 Died at his residence in Clarke County, Ala. on 1st of March, CAPT. WILLIAM ARMISTEAD, native of Virginia aged about 83. Fought in battles of Monmouth and Stony Point. March 23, 1842 Thursday evening last, a man by name of JACOB TARVER stayed all night at my home. When called to breakfast, he appeared unwell and mentally deranged and later died. From two letters found in his possession, he resided in Irwinton, Henry County, Alabama. Has a brother and sister living in Jackson County, Florida. Had been traveling in Texas and Arkansas and was on his way back to Alabama. G. N. Left husband, five small children (all daughters, one of which was born about two weeks ago) and numerous relations. State of Alabama--Bibb County. Married last evening 12th inst. by HON. J. J. ORMAND, MR. WILLIAM BILLINGSLEA of Montgomery to MISS KETURAH GUILD, daughter of DR. JAMES GUILD of this city. Died on Wednesday, 30th ult. at his residence in Wilcox County, COL. THOMAS B. CREAGH in his 75th year. Native of Virginia, but for twenty years a resident of this state.
