ELIAS FRIERSON in his 70th year. He was born in Williamsburg District, South Carolina from whence he removed to Tennessee in the year 1806 and was one of the earliest settlers in the dense forest of the "Duck River country" in that state. After having resided there about thirteen years in 1818, he removed to this state, then a territory, where he resided until his death.... Humble, unpretending, kind, benevolent...Kind father, neighbor and friend. Died on the 12th instant at Carthage, in Tuscaloosa County, MRS. LAVINA M. QUARLES, consort of DR. M(OSES) QUARLES in the 33d year of her age after a protracted illness of several weeks, leaving a husband and infant daughter, besides a number of relatives. (Communicated) Note: She was LAVINIA M.
