August 20, 1870 State of Alabama- Tuscaloosa Co. Aug. 16, 1870. A. C. HARGROVE and H. CLAY VAUGHAN, administrators of E(DWD) BRACY VAUGHAN (1798-1868), deceased filed a petition to sell real estate belonging to said deceased. Following heirs to be notified: SAVILLA B. wife of WM. H. HARGROVE, daughter of said dec'd, resides in Lowndes Co. Miss; FRANCIS MARION VAUGHAN, son of dec'd, resides in Lowndes Co. Miss; CARRIE VAUGHAN, wife of GEORGE W. VAUGHAN, dec'd, resides in Rankin Co. Miss.; JOSEPH BRACIE VAUGHAN and MARIA VAUGHAN, minors'under 14, children of said GEORGE W. VAUGHAN, dec'd, said JOSEPH resides with his uncle, F. M. VAUGHAN in Lowndes Co. Miss and said MARIA resides with her mother, the said CARRIE VAUGHAN in Rankin Co. Miss. State of Ala-Tuscaloosa Co. J. H. FITTS and S. J. LEACH, admr's of D. H. AVERY, dec'd petition for dower of JULIA K. AVERY in lands of which her husband died seized of. Notify JULY C. AVERY, CHARLES and EDWARD AVERY, heirs at law of said estate. August 27, 1870 Died in this city (vol 184, p 29) on morning of 25th of croun (see Indep. Monitor), EDMONDS MASON MARTIN, 4th son of JOHN M. and LUCY C. P. MARTIN aged 3 years. On Sat. 20th at 9 P.M. in 19th year, JOHN DONOHO (see Indep. Mon.), son of MONROE DONOHO.... In this city on Aug. 16th, ANNA E. daughter of MR. P. and MRS. MARY McNULTY (see Indep. Mon.). September 10, 1870 Died in this city on Sat. Sept. 3, THOMAS BLOUNT, son of B. and CATHARINE SLADE aged 8 years...(see Independ. Mon.). State of Ala- Tuscaloosa Co. Will of ELIZABETH DEASON (can't find will recorded), dec'd filed. Notify MARY WRIGHT, BEATRICE DEASON, ELIZABETH WRIGHT, SARAH ANN DEASON, RODY ANN DEASON and JOHN DEASON, who are non-residence and next of kin of deceased. (Oc 11 - p 25 ELIZ. POWELL, adm'r of JOHN PICKFORD, dec'd who died in Tuscaloosa on or about the 9 of Dec. 1869. It is reported that he was bom in Nova Scotia. Unable to ascertain any lawful heirs. September 17, 1870 Died--SUSANNAH CAROLINE, daughter of DANIEL and MARGARET LOGGINS; bom in Tuscaloosa Co. Mar. 9, 1860 and died in Austin Co. Tex. Aug. 10, 1870... September 24, 1870 Died in this city on 20th, JOHN S. FITCH (57 Mass, 1792-1870), a native of Norwich, Conn, in his 78th year. Emigrated to Tuscaloosa in 1821 about the time the city was laid out with lots and streets, so he was truly one of our eldest citizens. Man of gravity and sedateness of character....(see Indep. Monitor). Died in North Port on 19th, ROSCO (see Indep. Monitor), son of R. and P. H. SIMPSON. State of Alabama-Tuscaloosa Co. Will of DANIEL M. CLARK (d 1870), dec'd. Notify ELIZABETH WELCH (widow), residing in Boston, Mass, and WILLIAM CLARK (residence unknown), who are non-residents and next of kin of dec'd. Married in this city on 21st by REV. C. D. OLIVER, MR. ROBERT A. CHILDRESS and MISS MOLLIE C. MURPHY, all of this county (see I. M.). Also in this city on 22nd by REV. J. H. FOSTER, MR. HENRY COST and MISS MARY J. GARNER, all of this county. October 1, 1870 Died on 19th Sept. MR. DANIEL M. CLARK, long a citizen and merchant of this city....(see Indep. Monitor). Died at residence of MRS. B. F.
