August 19, 1871 Died at his residence on Sipsey River in this county recently, MR. GEORGE WASHINGTON (son of Wash'n John Wash'on; @ 50 in 1850, b Va., Bible says d Aug 9, 1871) who was upwards of 70 yrs. Worthy citizen and was a lineal descendant of the great WASHINGTON. Died August 3 at residence of her husband in Trousdale Co. Tenn. MRS. MARGARET C. SIDDONS, wife of DR. W. M. SIDDONS and daughter of MR. and MRS. NELSON A. CRAWFORD of Eutaw (Greene Co. Ala.) aged 28 years. The deceased and her husband resided in Tuscaloosa for about 2 years, having removed to Tenn, less than a year ago. August 26 1871 Died after a short illness at his residence in this county on 19th, WILEY G. W. HESTER aged about 31 years. September 2 1871 Married at residence of bride's father by REV. R. S. COX on Sunday Aug. 27, THOMAS M. BARNETT and MISS SALLIE A. HAGLER, all of Tuscaloosa Co. Died in the city of Baltimore on 18 Aug. of consumption at house of her uncle, JOHN M. ELY, MRS. MARY OLIVIA GOLIBERT, eldest daughter of our townsman, PROF. F(RANCES) S. WALTER aged 36 years. Died in Northport Aug. 26, LEONA; also on 28, LENORE, infant children of L. F. and E. C. BURKS. September 9, 1871 JOHN and ELIAS WILSON, administrators of WILLIAM WILSON, dec'd; petition for division of estate. Notify children of WILLIAM WILSON, son of deceased, who is also deceased; WILLIAM E. WILSON, JOHN H. WILSON, SARAH F. WILSON, JAMES E. WILSON, reside with their guardian, WILLIAM DODSON and their mother, MRS. WILLIAM DODSON--non-residents of Ala. September 16, 1871 Died in Elyton (Jefferson Co.) Aug. 7, ANNITA PRENTICE DEASON, daughter of DR. G. T. DEASON aged 1 yr. and 9 days. Married on morning of 7th at residence of WILLIAM FARMER, Esq. by REV. WILLIAM H. ARMSTRONG, ELIJAH C. SMITH and MISS ELVIRA HALL, all of Tuscaloosa Co. October 21, 1871 Will of JOHN E. CHAMBERS, dec'd presented by S. M. CHAMBERS. Notify SAMUEL T. CHAMBERS, Campbell Co. Va; WM. M. CHAMBERS, Roxborough, N.C. and LUCY R. HAMLETT, -------Va. all non-residents. October 28, 1871 Married on Oct. 25 at residence of bride's mother by REV. FATHER KIRWAN, J. W. GAUDIN and ANNIE E. COLLIER. Died at his late residence in Foster's Settlement on Thursday Sept. 28 A.D. 1871, Deacon F. H. NIX (@ 49 m 1850, b SC); born in S.C. about 1793. Has lived about 40 years in this settlement. Useful citizen. Had 6 sons in Confederate service, four of whom died in service. Deacon of Grant's Creek Baptist Church many years. MRS. REBECCA HASSELTINE FOSTER, wife of J. LUTHER FOSTER died very suddenly at residence of her husband on 18th in her 32nd year; daughter of ELISHA and ELIZABETH H. THORNTON, late of Green Co. Ala; member of Grant's Creek Baptist Church. Affectionate mother. MRS. ELIZABETH MAHARREY (@ 28 in 1850 b NC), relict of JOSEPH P. MAHARREY (@ 49 b Md.) died at her late residence in August last. For several years a member of Grant's Creek Baptist Church. November 4, 1871 Married near Forkland at residence of bride's mother on 25th Oct., NORFLEET HARRIS, Esq. of Tuscaloosa to MISS BETTIE BLOCKER of Greene Co. Died in this city on 1st inst. LEIGHTON, youngest son of the late RT. REV. N. H. COBBS. November 25, 1871 Died near Newbern on 8th inst. at residence of MR. SAMUEL NICHOLS, MRS. ELIZA M. REATTY in her 70th year.
