January 6, 1874 Died in this city at residence of his brother MR. GEORGE GREEN on 5th after a long and painful illness, MR. HENRY P. GREEN. Young man of great promise. Leaves widow and 2 little children. Remains will be carried to Jasper for interment. January 14, 1874 Married at Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa on New Years Day by REV. WM. H. WILLIAMS (Presbyterian), CAPT. A. R. MEGRUE and MISS MARY A. BERRY. January 20, 1874 DR. E7 J” SMITH, a well known resident of this co. died in a fit at his residence about 7 miles from this city on night of 11th (Blade). January 27, 1874 Married at residence of bride's father, MR. THOS. N. HYCHE by REV. D(ANIEL) S(ONLI) McDONALD (Meth), MR. JAMES H. RICH and MISS WINNIE HYCHE. At residence of MR. W. W. PRUDE (bride's father) in this city on night of 21, HON. NEWBERN H. BROWNE and MISS M. E. PRUDE. Died in this city on 18 at an advanced age, MRS. ------THOMAS, widow of the late JOHN THOMAS, who died here last summer. MRS. T. was a sister of the late MISS SALLY SWOOPE. Died in this town on 25, MRS. REBECCA SMITH (58 G), relict of the late JOHN SMITH at advanced age of 86. She was a resident of this county about 55 years having settled here in 1818. Her husband was 1st Sheriff of Tuscaloosa Co. MRS. SMITH survived her husband many years and has received the devoted attention of 3 of her children whom she now leaves to mourn her loss. February 17, 1874 Married at Methodist Church in North Port on 10 by REV. J(EREMIAH) M. BOLAND, REV. SIDNEY R. PROPST to MISS MISSOURI A. POWELL. Married on 10 at Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa by REV. B. F. LARRABEE, MR. ETHEL PHILLIPS to MISS MARY C. BENAGH, both of Tuscaloosa. Married at residence of PROF. W. S. WYMAN in Tuscaloosa on evening of 11, by. REV. C. A. STILLMAN, D.D. MR. GEORGE A. SEARCY to MISS ALICE DEARING, both of Tuscaloosa. At residence of REV. P(HILIP) A(UGUSTUS) FITTS (Epis) in Birmingham by RT. REV. BISHOP WILMER, MR. B. E. GRACE, JR. to MISS ANNIE E. WALKER, daughter of C. A. WALKER of Elyton. Died in Carthage on 7 of consumption, HENRY B. FORCE an esteemed citizen of Hale Co. Civil Engineer of N.E. & S.W. (now A.C. & C.) Railroad and during war, a member of Warrior Guards aged about 45. Died in Tuscaloosa on Sunday morning 15th after a protracted illness, CL. MICHAEL A. KING in --year of age. Came to this co. some 15 years ago and settled in agricultural pursuits. Native of Madison Co. and commence life there as a lawyer. Several times elected to represent Madison Co. in State Legislature. March 3, 1874 Married in North Port on 2 JAMES CAIN Esq. to MRS. POLLY COX all of this co. Died in this co. on ---MRS. EVA BROWN, wife of REV. JOHN BROWN in 35th yr. Died in North Port at residence of her husband, WM. THOMSON, Esq. on 24, MRS. NANCY THOMSON aged 68. Methodist. March 10 1874 Death of MR. PATRICK BRADY of Tuscaloosa. Shot himself on March 9. Funeral from Catholic Church. March 24 1874 Died in North Port on 20 at residence of P. F. M. COMERFORD, MRS. MAHALA A. ODOM aged about 57. 212 - (3512)
