Married on the 15th instant at the residence of the bride's father by FATHER P. McMAHON, MR. JOSEPH H. CONNER to MISS SUSAN ELLEN GREEN, daughter of THOS. U. GREEN. April 21 1868 Died in Tuscaloosa on the 16th instant, COL. JOHN G. COLTART of this place aged 42 years. Died on the 29th inst. HOLLIE CRUTE aged 3 years, 4 months and 11 days. Died on the 2nd inst. MRS. MARY M. KENNEDY, an aged and highly esteemed lady of this city. Married at the residence of MRS. E. E. HOLT on the 29th inst. by REV. DR. PETRIE, MR. WM. BERNEY to MISS LIZZY J. TAYLOR, daughter of DR. W. P. TAYLOR, all of Montgomery. May 8, 1868 Died on the 6th instant in Lauderdale County, MR. JAMES ROBERTS aged 45. May 12, 1868 Died in Jefferson County on the 4th, MR. G(EORGE) J. ROEBUCK aged 50. Died in this vicinity on the 9th, ROBERT, infant son of COL. ROBERT and ELIZA FEARN. Died on the 28th of Jan. 1868 in his 74th year, JOSEPH PICKENS, Esq. Born in N.C. on 31 Aug. 1794 and had been a citizen of Madison Co. over 50 years. Quiet, useful, good citizen, beloved by all who knew him and an earnest, faithful Christian. (son of ANDREW & MARGARET (DONDLE) PICKENS--ancestors of MRS. HARRY C. WHITE, Homewood, Ala. 1952--He m. 1818 SELINA BROWN BRAZELTON, d of HENRY, LYDIA (LEDBETTER) BRAZELTON; gd of JACOB & HANNAH BRAZELTON & of JOEL LEDBETTER) Married on Tuesday the 5th instant by REV. MR. T. TANNEN, MR. JOHN W. DOUGLASS of Jackson (to Christian) County to MISS MARY F. R. HILL, daughter of MR. JOHN HILL of Rutherford Co. Tenn. May 15, 1868 Married on the 14th at the residence of COL. S. W. HARRIS by REV. DR. F. A. ROSS, MR. YANCEY P. NEWMAN (Fin Cen 6 A FARANCIS H.) to MISS MARY WATKINS, daughter of the late ROBERT H. WATKINS, all of Huntsville. Died on the 14th at his residence in this city, DR. TOLBERT, formerly of Louisville, Ky. May 26, 1868 OSMOND T. JONES of Perry Co. Ala. was killed last week by a kick from a mule. May 29, 1868 Married in this city on 27th by REV. F. P. SCRUGGS, MR. J. OTEY ROBINSON to MISS IRENE SCRUGGS, both of this city. On 25th by REV. W. BURR, DR. A. G. ISAACS of Texas to MISS ALICE O'NEAL of this county. On 27th at bride's residence by REV. FATHER TRECY, MR. JAMES CONWAY to MRS. ANNIE E. DAVIS, both of this city. On 26th by REV. FATHER TRECY at his residence, JOHN BYRON, 15th Regiment, U.S.I. to NANCY EVERELL of Nashville and JOHN ADAMS of the same regiment to AMANDA VICK. Died in this city on 24th, MRS. CATHARINE CHEWNING (52 V--in 1818 THADEUS CHEWNING) On 28th, MR. JOHN A(?) MURRELL (43 V), an old and well-known citizen of this place aged about 67. June 2, 1868 MASTER JAMES BIBB of this place was killed near Corinth (Alcorn Co.) Miss, last week as is supposed by a man named STEWART and then robbed. 225 - (3525)
