ALEXANDER (49 A) in 71st year. WILLIAM P. HILLIARD, son of REV. H. W. HILLIARD died two weeks ago in Columbus (Muscogee Co.), Geo. brilliant young man. BENJAMIN GOSS drowned in Coosa river, Cherokee County, Ala. on 8th. November 24, 1868 Married on the 10 by REV. JOS. E. CARTER at the residence of MR. M. E. BATTLE, DR. J. P. HAMPTON of Mississippi to MISS. M(ARY) T. BATTLE (6 A) of this county, daughter of the late MR. JOSIAH D. BATTLE (38 NC). COL. JOHN SIMS, formerly of this state died in Texas recently. November 27, 1868 Tribute of respect to the memory of B. G. BURNETT to Madison Lodge #25, I. 0. 0. F. December 1, 1868 GEN. N. G. EVANS, late C. S. A. died in Macon County, Alabama on the 24th. JUDGE W. L. HARRIS of Miss, died on 26th. CAPT. JOHN G. FISHER, formerly cashier of Bank of Tennessee died last week. COL. JOSEPH TAYLOR, formerly of Madison Co. died in Phillips Co. Ark. on 16th. Died at residence of DR. DAVIS MOORE near Vienna on the 5th, MRS. BETTIE MOORE, wife of JAMES MOORE after a protracted illness. January 5, 1869 Died December 25, 1868 near Maysville, MR. MARY F. MARTIN, wife of MR. E. T. MARTIN. She was born August 25, 1839. MATTIE LEE, infant daughter of E. T. and MARY E. MARTIN died near Maysville, Ala. December 11, 1868, aged 1 yr. 2 mo. 1 day. DR. JOHN T. DeBOW (30 A) of this place died Saturday night after a short illness. He was a kind, gentle, sensible, honest man, a good citizen and a skillful physician. Left many friends in this county. WILLIAM NOLAN was killed on 27th at Mossy Crrek, Tenn, by ROBERT BLEVINS who fled. 230 - (3530)
