December 14, 1869 Died on Sunday the 5th at Loudon, Tennessee, MRS. LUCRETIA JULIAN, mother of MR. C. H. JULIAN of this city. December 17, 1869 Married on the 16th in this city at the residence of MR. SAMUEL COLTART by REV. DR. BANISTER, MR. WILLIAM H. FARRIS to MISS HELEN NESBIT. Married on the 15th at the residence of MR. December 13, 1869 MR. WILLIAM H. FOWLER, an old citizen (76) of this county died a few days ago at his residence. MR. ISAAC WILLIAMS died in Columbus, Miss, on the 17th aged 76. He resided here from 1820 to 1835 and was a good man. Died on the 18th at his mother's residence near Brownsboro, MR. WILLIAM J. LAWLER in the 31st year of his age. December 24 1869 Married at the residence of COL. W. D. HUMPHREY Dec.22ndby REV. M. G. DeWITT, MR. JAMES DRAKE to MISS BELLE JONES HfiSSfiJS7, all of this county. In Blount County, Ala. this week, GEORGE SHELTON (@ 30 A) was shot and killed by a MR. HENRY. December 21 1869 WILLFORD SULLIVAN, deceased. M. K. TAYLOR, administrator. Married on the 15th by REV. MR. SANDERS, MR. JNO. CAWTHORN to MISS CHARLOTTE, daughter of MR. L. F. LAMBERSON, all of this co. Died on 19th ( ? says d Nov. 26, 1869), REV. WILLIAM GREEN (Meth.; b Dec. 10, 1800) aged about 73. Old citizen of this county. Much beloved by all who knew him. Life was one of honest toil and practical usefulness. Leaves many to lament his death. December 6, 1869 COL. STEPHEN W. HARRIS of this place died on Sunday after a lingering illness. He formerly represented this county in the Legislature and was a gentleman of intelligence, culture and moral worth. May 13 1870 MR. ET R. THOMPSON died here on the 4th at the residence of DR. J. J. DEMENT from wounds he received on the night of March 9th at the hands of disguised men at his own residence about 9 miles north of Huntsville. Tribute of respect--Madison Lodge 25 I.O.O.F. "Our worthy and esteemed brother, SAMUEL S. CLARK, Past Grand Master of this Lodge." ISAIAH DILL, JAMES E. SEAR and C. A. JORDAN, committee. Died in this place on 11 May 1870, WILLIAM F. ELGIN in 43rd year. On the 4th inst. at the residence of her son-in-law, LOGAN R. GLOVER in this city, MRS. NANCY McCLEHANY (w of DAVID--census) aged about 76 years. Native of Virginia but for many years a resident of this county and consistent member of the Cumberland Church. Died at his residence in this place May 6, 1870, MR. SAMUEL S. CLARK aged 53 years 3 months and 6 days. Florence, Ala. and Auburn, N.Y. papers please copy. Married on the 1st inst. by REV. U. S. BATES, MR. JEFFERSON ECKELS of Tennessee to MISS LOUISA S. GORMLEY of this county. May 20, 1870 Married on 2nd inst. in Nashville, Tennessee by MR. KANTRO VIEZ, MR. GERSON MEYER to MISS GUSTA GILDZINSKI of Nashville. Died on the 13th inst. at the residence of MR. J. MAYHEW, JOSEPH W. DURYEE aged 18. 240 - (3540)
